Kaunas – temporary capital of the Republic of Lithuania

During the tour around Kaunas with “Our Odyssey” we will turn over the historical pages of Kaunas between the wars. We will start the tour at the Kaunas Presidency. We will learn about the period of the city’s history, when Kaunas was the capital of the Republic of Lithuania, get acquainted not only with the history of the Presidential Palace, but also with many spicy details about receptions, celebrations and parties, clothing etiquette, we’ll also find out what the president’s chefs were serving to guests at the banquet table. We will move into the life of that period, learn about the restaurants, cinemas, hairdressing fashions, charities that were operating at that time. Going along Laisvės Alley, we will stop at the Musical Theater, Central Post Office and other interwar buildings and find out what life was like here. We will end the tour in the city sanctuary – in the garden of the Military Museum, where we will see the swarm of an unknown soldier, the “Laisvės” sculpture, proud lions, a carillon, the “School of Trouble” and many other not-so-known details of Kaunas history.
